Adam Thompson

Your seat may be reallocated to comply with current physical distancing guidelines When it comes to enigmatic front men, there are few that embody the power and passion quite like Chocolate Starfish’s Adam Thompson. He owns the stage, channels the music, and has audiences eating out the palm of his hand. So it is no surprise that when it came to picking his next great project, Adam chose to showcase the music of his hero Freddie Mercury and Queen in Bohemian Rhapsody the blockbuster movie soundtrack, live in concert. Performing with the We Will Rock You band is a special coup for Adam Thompson, and for audiences. In 2002, Queen’s Brian May and Rodger Taylor hand-picked the band in Melbourne for their hit musical. Featuring Simon Croft, Andy Swann and Andrew Patterson, it brings special revelry to the evening. The Bohemian Rhapsody concert will feature hit after hit from Queen’s back catalogue. With tracks such as Somebody to Love, Killer Queen, Fat Bottomed Girls, We Will Rock You, Another One Bites The Dust, I Want To Break Free and Under Pressure to name a few, it will be a spectacular evening from start to finish. Adam Thompson and the We Will Rock You band look forward to exchanging that love and energy of Queen with audiences.

Diesel Greatest Hits

With the recent release of his studio opus to life "in the burbs" and the human condition, 'Sunset Suburbia', an album that debuted as #10 on the ARIA Album Chart, Diesel is ready to hit the road once again to perform in solo mode at select regional theatres across his home state. For Diesel, last year saw the challenge of being stationary and compromised in regards to collaboration. Like many times before, turning to music proved to be the best distraction as he worked on a new solitary blues project 'Alone With Blues' due for release later this year. Playing eerything himself and paying homage to some of his all-time favourite blues songs, along with a recently discovered but long forgotten song writing collaboration by Australian blues and roots pioneer Ross Wilson, 'Alone With Blues' showcases Diesel's blues DNA on a macro level, in the process, showing new facets to an artist known for his diversity.

Singin' In The Rain Jr.

BYTESized Productions is excited to bring the 'Greatest Movie Musical of All Time' to the stage at the Albury Entertainment Centre in June 2021. Singin' in the Rain Jr. has all the makings of a Tinseltown tabloid headline - the starlet, the leading man and a love affair that could change lives and make or break careers! In silent movies, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are a hot item, but behind the scenes, things aren't always as they appear on the big screen! Meanwhile Lina's squeaky voice might be the end of her career in "talking pictures" without the help of a talented young actress to do the talking and singing for her. Faithfully and lovingly adapted by Broadway legends Betty Comden and Adolph Green, from their original award-winning screenplay in Singin' in the Rain Jr. Hilarious situations, snappy dialogue and a hit-parade score of Hollywood standards make Singin' in the Rain Jr. a guaranteed fabulously good time for audiences of all ages.

The Phantom of the Opera

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s record-breaking masterpiece, “The Phantom of the Opera” comes to the Albury Entertainment Centre 14-22 May. Phantom’s legendary score still delivers the most powerful emotional impact of any major musical, which has made it by far the longest-running show in Broadway history. Based on the 1910 horror novel by Gaston Leroux, The Phantom of the Opera is a thrilling and romantic account of the legendary Phantom, a musical genius who dwells deep beneath the Paris Opera House. Shunned by society for his horrible facial deformity, the lonely Phantom takes a gorgeous young soprano, Christine, under his wing and grooms her for operatic fame, all the while falling deeply in love with her. As Christine’s star begins to rise, and a handsome young man from her past begins to successfully court her, the Phantom descends into a jealous rage and terrorises the opera company with increasingly dangerous threats, culminating in an unparalleled musical and emotional climax. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s score soars with such acclaimed songs as “Think of Me,” “All I Ask of You,” “The Music of the Night,” “Masquerade”, “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again”, “Angel of Music”, and the title song, “The Phantom of the Opera.” Phantom has gone on to become a cultural tour de force and the most successful single entertainment event in history. Is Phantom a good show to take the kids to? Phantom is suitable for children with parental guidance recommended. However, Phantom does feature grand opera and lush romance, and old-fashioned scare moments throughout—a corpse plunging from a noose, shrieking-for-their-lives ballerinas, not to mention the Phantom’s disfigured face. Such sights will either send your kid burying their face in your arm or thinking it’s the coolest show they’ve seen!

The Spooky Men's Chorale

Your seat may be reallocated to comply with current physical distancing guidelines The Spooky Men’s Chorale is a vast, rumbling, steam-powered and black-clad behemoth, capable of rendering audiences moist-eyed with mute appreciation or haplessly gurgling with merriment. Through an evening of drop deadpan beautiful mansinging, the Spooky Men’s Chorale ponder the conundrums of modern life and manhood, invite the audience to joyously experience a wall of mansound, laugh stupidly, and venture into areas of great tenderness. It is not so much comedic as hilarious, not so much shimmeringly perfect as pleasingly and deeply human.
